We recently completed the fit-out of Redkite’s Swansea office, transforming the existing space into a bright, open and contemporary workplace that reflects the company’s ethos, values and long-term vision. The brief focused on creating an environment that felt welcoming and professional, while supporting collaboration, wellbeing and future growth.

Working closely with the Redkite team throughout the process, we developed a design that balances functionality with warmth and flexibility. A key part of the approach was making thoughtful use of existing elements within the space. The original carpet was in excellent condition, so rather than replacing it, we incorporated it into the new design, reducing waste while ensuring the finished scheme remained cohesive and considered. Softer tones, layered textures and carefully selected finishes were introduced to complement the flooring and subtly reflect Redkite’s brand identity.

The layout was reimagined to improve flow and usability for both staff and visitors. A new reception area now provides a clear and welcoming arrival area, creating a strong first impression while guiding visitors naturally through the space. From here, the office opens into a range of meeting environments designed to support different ways of working. These include a dedicated boardroom, additional meeting rooms for internal collaboration, and four new focus pods positioned throughout the office. Two of the pods have been designed specifically for DDA use, ensuring the workplace is inclusive, accessible and easy to navigate for everyone.

At the heart of the office sits the open-plan kitchen, designed as more than just a place to make a coffee. Acting as the social hub of the workplace, this space encourages employees to step away from their desks, connect with colleagues and hold informal meetings in a relaxed setting. From a sustainability perspective, we retained the client’s existing kitchen and extended it to make it suitable for the growing team, providing additional space and functionality without unnecessary replacement.

By working with the existing flooring and kitchen, and embracing Redkite’s brand in a softer, more inviting way, we’ve delivered a modern, practical and people focused workspace. The finished office supports collaboration, inclusivity and wellbeing, while demonstrating how considered design and sustainable decision making can add long term value to the workplace.
