Outdoor Garden Space

Step outside and discover how our office garden makes workdays brighter.
We believe that workplaces should support wellbeing and sustainability. So, over the summer we transformed part of our car park into a vibrant outdoor garden space, giving our team a place to enjoy fresh air, recharge during breaks, or even hold meetings in the sunshine.
This initiative is also part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability; it fulfils one of our environmental targets to increase biodiversity. We’ve already seen the positive impact, with bees, butterflies, wasps and other insects drawn to the plants and flowers that are starting to thrive.

Sustainable Partnerships
To make this space possible, we partnered with some fantastic local suppliers:
- Reseiclo Community Wood Recycling (reseiclo.co.uk) created bespoke planters for us, using reclaimed wood. By repurposing materials that might otherwise go to waste, Reseiclo not only reduces landfill impact but also supports local employment, skills training and the circular economy.
- Awen Cultural Trust (awen-wales.com) supplied the plants that now fill these planters. Their B-Leaf garden centre team thoughtfully selected greenery to help promote biodiversity, attract pollinators and support local wildlife.

A Space for People and Nature
We’ve designed the area to be both functional and comfortable:
- A large umbrella provides shade, making the space ideal for outdoor working as well as relaxation.
- Our team crafted a wooden sofa from repurposed pallet wood in our warehouse. This was completed with locally made cushions from Able Office Furniture, upholstered in Camira Oceanic Riptide fabric – a textile created from recycled ocean plastic.
- A new dining table and chairs complete the space, crafted from certified regenerated technopolymer – plastic reclaimed from post-consumer waste, industrial recycling, and end-of-life products.

The Result
Our outdoor garden has quickly become a favourite spot for staff. It provides a healthy balance between productivity and wellbeing, while also showcasing what can be achieved with sustainable choices. By reusing, recycling, and partnering with like-minded organisations, we’ve created a space that benefits our team and contributes positively to our local ecosystems and habitats.
We look forward to developing this space and collectively increasing the biodiversity in different ways. We’ve already bought some fabulous bat and bird boxes made by Anwen Trust’s Wood-B team.
