Thales approached D&G with a simple brief, to create a more collaborative and agile workplace at their main “Hybrid” building in Ebbw Vale. They sought to inject some personality into the space that reflected their cutting-edge brand. Given the influx of international employees and clients visiting, the design needed to be not just functional but also striking. Following thorough design consultations and immersive 3D visual presentations, D&G secured the contract for the comprehensive refurbishment of the Hybrid offices.

We identified the building as being long and narrow with little light passing through it, and so we put in glass partitions and opened up the space to encourage interaction amongst employees. The entrance space boasts a dual-aspect moss wall with a custom built logo, enhancing the wow factor and dramatic effect upon entering the premises.

We created pockets of collaboration spaces with fun, on-brand engaging colours. We used booths and soft seating areas for staff to engage with each other away from their desks. Additionally, we also incorporated sound-absorbing acoustic boards in these collaborative spaces for both aesthetic appeal and noise management. 4

Furthermore, we installed a sleek, futuristic private video conferencing booth, offering staff a sophisticated setting for team calls and confidential meetings. The team, including our installation suppliers, worked closely with the Thales team to minimise impact on their working environment whilst the project was completed in 16 weeks.
